Sapori Italian Bistro is tucked away at Amble Ridge Retirement Village in Hunters Home but open to the public Chef Nerina, the owner/chef, hails from the beautiful island of Sardinia and trained in Italy but has been in the restaurant trade for decades in both South Africa – in Cape Town and Knysna – and in Italy – notably in the north of Italy in the town of Morgex in the Valle d’ Aosta region which is close to the border of France

In Knysna she also owned the very popular Piccola Italia in Old Cape Road which was well supported and opened in October 2000

Her signature dishes are without a doubt her Ossobuco, Gnocchi and the Beef Tagliata is also a firm favourite. Her pastas and pizza bases are all handmade and in true Italian style, not short of toppings.

It is no wonder that the name Sapori means “flavours” as her dishes are loaded with flavours and ingredients
